Just picked this up today. A M&P revolver from 1948 with the original nickel finish.

Kirk! That is class act!!! You are now ready for "M" Squad!!!

Well done!!!

Thanks Bob, it was a trade in by a small PD to a local LEO Supply shop. It had been confiscated and sat in some evidence locker for quite awhile. The timing is good on it but I had to do some major cleaning on it. Whomever had it did not look like they had ever cleaned it. I will add a Tyler T-grip to it and then take it to the range. Now if I can only find an old Lewis cross draw holster for it.......

Air gun fun......

I had not, until a couple of days ago, shot or owned any air gun since 1967. A bar pal wanted to sell this:

and I seemed to have missed much cheap fun during these intervening years.

It's a Diana/RWS model 34 in .177" caliber with some sort of Simmons air rifle specific 'scope - sproingggg!

An old .303 Lee Enfield that has been converted to 7.62. Used monthly by club members including myself, so Iron sights for 600 yards makes me enjoy my shooting.

With my watch to highlight the wonderful colour of the wood, the strap is Hirsch honey brown so you get an idea.

I bought a new (to me) rifle last spring --

I'm still coming to terms with this one. Learning what reloads she likes, and even trying to decide if I can shoot this big S.O.B. or not. Been shooting .270 forever, but this is another thing entirely.

Mr. Needham,

This STW's can be a beast! Good luck!

Beautiful Winchester Earl, congrats!
Yep, if one is used to .270, that 7mm STW is a whole 'nother kettle 'o fish! :D

The one word that comes to mind when I fire this rifle is WHAM! Followed closely by BOOM! It's quite the hit. As I said earlier, I'm still trying to get along with it. Considering a muzzle brake, but not sure yet. BTW -- 160-grain Sierra Game Kings at around 3100 FPS...

Thank you for the compliments. It came with a box of ammunition with five rounds missing. I suspect the guy bought it, fired five rounds, screamed, and traded it in on something else. The rifle looks brand new. I've fired 45 rounds through it so far and still trying to get a group. Of course, finding all the scope mounting hardware loose helped in that regard! lol I've torqued it down to proper specs (bought a F.A.T. wrench), and will try again next time I go to the range. I'm at the point of loading six rounds or so right before going to the range.

I feel pretty fortunate to have found her.

Of you think she's loud now, wait until you stick a muzzle brake on her!!

:D!

You will get it worked out! Looks like she isn't even broke in yet?

That's what I'm thinking -- she looks like she's had no more than maybe 50 rounds through her!

And loud ain't the problem, she kicks like a mule!

The good news: I wound up with another Browning BLR. Well used and scruffy, but in a interesting caliber, 358 Winchester.

The bad news: It's missing the magazine, and it's a pre-81. I may end up paying more for the magazine than I did for the rifle.
