Wow. That is a beautiful weapon. You sir, are an artist.I built this rifle in 1976,I used blue prints from Jim Bridger's rifle with a few modifications.It's 54 cal.1" in 72" twist.Drives tacks with patched round balls.I have won many mountain man run competitions with this rifle,shot deer, elk, and turkeys and all manner of varmints.

That's amazing work there, exactly what I'm pining for.
But lacking your skills, I've been considering either the Lyman Great Plains or the Pedersoli Rocky Mountain Hawken.
Here are two of my favorite fire arms. 1870 Springfield Trapdoor carbine in 50-70 and an 1886 Winchester 45-70 made in 1889. The 45-70 is spot on at 200 yards, the 50-70 is worthless at that range. Still, a lot of fun!
