It is immaculate Eddie it just needs a button for the fob pocket....I reckon it's a 38-40" waist, jacket is a 42-44" ish no sizes stated but the jacket fits me perfectly on the shoulders but is about an inch or so too long, trousers are I guess around a 30" inside leg.

How many inside pockets in the coat? That might help date it - a single breast pocket (only) or and a ticket pocket might date it to the 1950s.

Nice collection. That last suit is very interesting. I've never seen that style before, do you have any information about it?

Matteo, that is a wonderful suit (they are both nice but the second one is exceptional).

My immediate thought was that it has the same button configuration as Freddie's suit. With the square front I immediately thought 'DB conversion'. But there is no sign of where the original buttonholes would have been. The trousers appear to be very wide. It would appear to be a proper wide-boy suit.

And I love the 'Stubbs of Leamington' label.

Not a suit but a blazer, I can't find a dedicated thread for club /association blazers please feel free to put this in one if it exists?

Ok I got this last Thursday on a flea market for £3 so nothing lost, it's a smidge tight but not much really and as I'm losing weight I'll fit in it soon.
Not sure on the age but suspect it's a 50's job?
It has high arm holes slightly nipped waist with two 6" rear vents, cloth is heavy-ish and appart from one very, very tiny moth nip? it has no damage at all and only a little surface wear.
It still sports it's nicely sewn on Royal Air Force Association bullion wire badge which is a nice touch.
It has one inside pocket on the right and just one small-ish one on the left lower down possibly for a glasses case?
Patch pockets are slightly tulip shaped, body length is perfect and I just need the sleeves taking up an inch, very happy with it indeed, also has some nice quality though not to eveyones taste 'silver'buttons;
Colour is closest in shot showing rear of button.

No lables save a paper one with a number written on it in fountain pen and 56 written on the rear of the label.

It's better in the flesh Eddie, it's a thought I too have had but I think it would be a shame to part the two as their history is entwined....as its an old badge I don't think anyone even in the know would think it was anything like current or recent issue....I could remove it and do in fact have an plain old 'England' bullion badge bought NOS a while ago which shows no allegiance to anything save our country so still not entirely sure!

This came in the post today, and I'm thrilled. Although it's miles too small for me, it's a fantastic example of 1940s tailoring, and I'm nearly 100% sure it's CC41 too. The label has been monstrously cut out, but I can recognise the rounded tops of the 'CC'. It is by 'Burleigh', has 10 and 1/2" cuffs on the trousers, and is probably about 38 regular (the trousers measure about 16" across the waistband). Although it looks straight grey from the photos, it has a tinge more like indigo running through it. It has no turn-ups, but I think that is just from letting them down. Although I have heard that turn-ups were banned for cloth-saving? Is that true?

I really like it, but I don't know whether to sell it or not. It's in immaculate condition, all save for a couple of thread pulls on the chest, and a small moth hole on the sleeve that is on the stripe anyway, and isn't noticeable. Let me know your verdict folks! (Profuse apologies for the crap camera work - all from my phone I'm afraid!)

Here's a shot of the CC41 label. I reckon that's the real McCoy ain't it?

Interesting button closure

Inside of the lapels split in two. Was this common or for fabric saving?

Thanks for looking!

What esteban said.
If this fits my size 37, then my verdict is sell it to me. :) Seriously.

Looks like really nice cloth! Never seen the split fabric either.

The two part facings are perfectly normal. I have seen this on many European suits... just a way of avoiding waste at cutting.

Thanks gents. I've not had time to go over it with a fine tooth comb yet so I don't know what to do with it with regards selling or keeping. So far I've just stared at it adoringly and lamented my larger size. But I shall consider your offer Nik :) The cloth is great. Really soft and comfy, and the pattern has a lot going on. I'd say closest general colour is light charcoal with a hint of blue. I had initally bought it with a mind to having it copied for a suit (when on earth I can save up for one) but it is in just too good a condition to be taken apart.

Could easily be early fifties really - I believe the CC41 label was knocking around a long time. I noticed the fly also has two pieces of cloth joined together. Very nicely done though.
