Deerskin.

Supple, soft, delightful deerskin.

Under-rated in a world that often favors hard-wearing heavyweight workwear. But it does make some lovely and wearable jackets. And while some deer jackets can age poorly, others stand the test of time admirably.

Feel free to show off and brag on your deerskin jackets and coats!

I have the one pictured below, which is a Custom Coat Co. bomber (vintage, but I don't know an exact age) that was generously gifted to me by @ton312. I have really enjoyed wearing it through the Fall months, and on nicer Winter days too. So comfortable! And the hide is in very nice condition for its age.

Oh Deer!

This will keep by busy. I love Deerskin jackets.

I will start here, long way to go. This has been my go to jacket this winter. I've gotten several compliments too!

I always look for some thing unique. You don't see many rough out Deerskin jackets. Very simple design,.very functional too, especially that top button closing the neck.

These are all Midwestern Sport Togs-Berlin Wisconsin

I adore deerskin. It is actually quite substantial and more abrasion resistant than you would expect, but is incredibly soft and flexible. The two most comfortable leather jackets I have ever owned have both been deerskin.

The texture is quite nice. There is some almost goatskin-esque grain, but it starts off quite matte and with a little bit of nap almost like suede. As you wear it and it creases/gets anything on it, it smooths out and gets shinier in places. Quite interesting.

My current favorite jacket is my Freewheelers Bodie in vintage brown deerskin.

My previous favorite jacket was my Freewheelers Sunset in yellow ochre deerskin. Unfortunately as I lost weight, it became too large and I had to sell it.

This photo shows how much deerskin can smooth out and get shinier/darker as your skin contacts it. The natural oils/sweat from my skin and hair did this to the jacket fairly quickly
