Shorts with wingtips, a sport jacket?

Living in the Palisades and working in Woodland Hills provides me with a daily dose of at least 3 different climates during the summer; grey skies and 70s in the Palisades, sunny and 90-100 in Woodland Hills, and of course, the climate-controlled office.

Plus, I drive a convertible that does not have A/C.

None of this, however, would motivate me to want to wear shorts to the office. Ugh.

I do own one pair of shorts, of the patchwork madras variety, that I have been known to bust out on particularly hot weekends.

Personally I would'nt wear shorts to the office, nor would I wear a short sleeved white shirt with a tie. Although my inspiration for attire comes from the 1930's era gentleman. Yet as you see below in the 1950's these three gentlemen had other ideas.

On the other hand I would have no problem wearing shorts with a sportcoat on summer weekends or holidays, especailly in the mountains or at the seaside when the weather can get cooler in the evenings.

Bermuda shorts

Here's a photo of me leaving my parents' house in Bermuda on my way to Hamilton. I think the trick to wearing Bermudas lies in the socks. If you're wearing socks, they should be tall (like the gentleman above with the rifle) or not worn at all.

I don't think men should wear shorts at all. I don't want to see guys legs. lol Not with wing tips, boots, sandals, barefoot. I don't mind women wearing shorts with wing tips, boots, sandals, barefoot. ;) Shorts are for women and children.
Male legs can be considered quite attractive. ;)

I haven't much to say about shorts. The only time I wear them is when I'm as unvintage as possible... with a t-shirt! Otherwise, I only wear shorts to go swimming and MAY cover up with a short sleeve or rolled sleeve shirt.
