Well, the lining isn't visible when worn. But if it'll tip the balance I'd consider sending you some black rayon for a relining

Actually its lining is not a bad thing at all. The point is that this jacket is made to remind those vintage jackets from 1920s-1930s, that's why camouflage lining looks a little bit ridiculous on such a nice jacket. The lining looks too modern for such beautiful vintage design of the jacket- that's the point. Anyway, its Shinki leather shell is very nice, I like it!

Re the shoulders

I had a message pointing out to me that the shoulders measurement on this is the same as what BK state it would be for a 40. And it made me remember something.

I have measured these shoulders as you would at home. The jacket was laid out flat and I've taken it from seam to seam across the back. 18 is the number.

BK's method would be to pull them apart with pressure and then to take the measurement. In which case it is 18.5. You can get 18.5 without excessive force

It's a tricky one because I feel like 18.5 is correct but that 99% of guys here would make them 18 at home. Anyhow, probably a triviality as it looks most likely that I'll be keeping it fior myself.. but just in case one of you decides he would like to stump up the cash I'm mentioning it

Lining is nice - no doubts, and yes - Himel bros sometimes use the same lining too (in their A-1 Heron for example). But the point is that this camouflage lining doesn't combine at all with that 1920s-1930s period of history A-1 jacket came from. I have no idea why such superb makers as BK and Himel use camouflage lining (which looks definitely highly modern) in their 1920s-1930s period repros. That's the point.
