How about a shave of the day thread for all the die-hards?

Post up either a list or photo of your gear for that relaxing ritual that makes us presentable to the world!

Today:
957789490603_0_ALB.jpg

Shaving once every 2-3 days nowadays.

Merkur safety razor
Feather razor blades
Alternate between these soaps:

Martin De Candre original
Martin De Candre fern
Wet Shaving Products Vanilla Creme
EShave Avocado/Linden
Art of Shaving Lemon (This is a cream actually but starting to harden)

I have a Badger brush and can't remember the brand, a plain metal shaving bowl.

Soak brush for a few minutes, dip in soap, put in bowl and make lather. Coat face once, quick pass.
Dip brush back in for more soap, coat face again, a second quick pass.

An efficient method.

My shave the other day. Did a Live video. It was interesting.

My son brought me this razor. It was so filthy, I told him it would probably need to be replated. But after a little bit of toothbrush work with Scrubbing Bubbles and tooth paste, it turned out great!!!

1941 Gillette Ranger Tech

Gillette Announced this razor in May of 1941 and they were released on the shelf. In December of that same year, the sad day of Pearl Harbor happened and they quit production of these razors and instead made the 3 piece razors during the war.

After the war, in 1946, they slapped end caps on the sides and sold the rest of the old stock of Rangers (at least I think that's what happened).

It has the older style handle of the Senator with an efficiency better than the 40's style SuperSpeeds. The plating has a better gleam to it also.

Not the rarest razor, but this one was only made in one year. Pretty unique with a cool name!

My shave:

MDC
C40 Ever Ready with Horse Hair
Pol-Silver Blade
Chatillon Lux Yazu/Rose/Patchouli

My only DE is a 60's Super Speed.
I usually use Astra Platinum blades but I picked up a couple packs of Derby's this weekend.
I use a boar brush as I prefer the stiffer bristles.

Today's shave:
Stirling Soap, 'Coniferous'
Captain's Choice - 'North' aftershave

I've been using an Eve Ready 1912 for a few months and I can't understand why would anyone invent modern DE razors or cartridges to replace that perfect shaving tool. I've been getting the most perfect, smooth and free from razor burn shaves in all my entire life.

I agree Willy!

But us humans have to make things better. We went from one blade to the latest cartridge which is like 8!!!!

SE's is all a person needs! :)
