I bought a dozen more DE razors at a second hand shop. Had them laid out after initial cleaning and I asked my youngest to pick the one I'd shave with this morning.
He replied, "The one with the end that looks like a cooked ham!"
Gear: Gillette Super Speed red tip, 1957 (C1)
Dorco ST-300 (will take awhile to burn through these)
TRSC Moisturizing Cream
Tweezerman Badger brush
Prep: Hot towel over lathered face for two minutes
Shave: Three passes, WTG XTG ATG and then touch up
Post: Witch Hazel
All in all, a great BBS shave. I was sort of worried about the "aggressive" angle of the Red Tip, but it shaved smoothly and irritation free, even on the neck.
I have to reduce my suddenly large collection of razors, but I think the Red Tip stays.
