My 14 year old daughters "doodles"

Everyday, my daughter comes home from school with one of these "doodles" she has done in her "free time" at school. She has about 50 of them stuck to her bedroom walls. Although not my taste, I find them very intriguing. A lot of you have amazing talent. Your honest thoughts are very welcome. Here are a few I found interesting.

Spend all your money and put her in a good Art School. Extreme raw talent IMHO.
Not an artist but antique dealer but did want to be a Commercial Artist and took 4 yrs. of Art in High School and won awards. :eusa_doh:

ok, really. I will wait till the real professionals come along but the top one is amazing.

She draws the way she draws because she does not know other ways to do it. She is definitely influenced by Anime. As most kids are because thats mostly all the drawing they see. The narratives shes creating in her drawings are quite rich.

If you want to manipulate, er influence her emerging style ;), show her some Tex Avery or Chuck Jones. :D

I would also suggest some life drawing classes. I seriously stared those at 12. Not nude (but studying the nude form is invaluable) but ones that focus on clothing drape and volume. She clearly has not only a want to draw, but a *need*. Thats almost as important as talent. :)

Thanks for the advice! She's in an Arts school now, but she is in Music and Theatre not Visual Arts. She has obviously shown an affinity for drawing and an interest in changing conservatories. We're just not sure what to do. [huh]

She is far more talented than her old man and I'm a very proud father. But the kid needs focus!!!!

It reads your dreams while you click the snooze button, and displays them on the face using the twin powers of RADIUM and DORMITITE lol
Plus, the face lights up!

Here's the pdf of the booklet if you care to read the copy.
