Thanks for your kind words. This wasn't a natural talent. I started painting when I was 39 yrs old and followed those guys on TV with the almighty brushes. I am totally self taught. You can't imagine the works that came out of me then. The corner of my shop was littered with stacks of failures. ARGH!!!

The last piece I did a LOT of months ago due I'm passing through a serious artist's block at the moment that made even lost the joy I felt drawing. Photshop + graphic tablet.

I always admired people that can get some oils and make lovely portraits like the one you did with your granddaughter, Draws. I usually draw only with pencils, ink and now with Photoshop so, when someone work in something as difficult as oils, they can only have my admiration, really.

Pratice it's the only way to learn to draw. You must spend hours drwaing, practicing and, yeah, do a lot of failures but, overall, you must love what you do. If you do, you will put all those feelings on what you are drawing and people will notice and will appreciate it.

Thanks a lot, draws. I'm glad you like it!

What a nice gallery of photo you posted, p51. The color ones are incredible but, well, black & white always has something special, something nostalgic and the one that made me feel it was the great shot you called mming along
Humming Alone.

Great gallery, P51. I just cannot imagine the hours you have into this, just chasing those beauties then catching the correct image to boot.
Thanks! My long-suffering wife would probably answer your question with, “He spends TOO much time doing that,” but at least when doing it locally, chasing trains with a camera isn’t an expensive hobby. It’s when you start travelling places that it gets costly. Usually, I just combine the two when I’m going places (and trying not to make it too tough on my wife).

Here are some shots of other things.

This is probably my very most favorite thread. Here's more eye candy for you art enthusiasts! I painted this in 1998 and hanging in my foyer. No component in this painting exists on the face of the earth. Designed entirely from imagination. Image size 24" X 36" oil on 1/4" luan board, matted and under glass. Enjoy!

i'm not quite sure if these are exactly appropriate to this thread but, aside from the art i make myself, i have also worked as an artists model for more than 20 years now... these are a few images from a shoot i just worked on last week with the most talented photographer, and my wonderful friend, eryca green... these were shot in a location, with natural light, just outside of bega, nsw
