Goodness Alan, your photos are incredible! How big is that telescope you're using?

Thanks for your comments!

I have a number of telescopes... the sun picture is captured through the smallest, a 92mm f5 refractor (it's 14" long). The saturn images are captured through a 10" f14.6 telescope that is optimized for high resolution astro-photography. Both are made by Astro-Physics in Rockford, IL... a wonderful company.

Some photos of a sequence that will be publicized.

My wife works in a museum. She and a few friends make a voluntary work bringing the museum to kids with cancer in hospitals. The most difficult (emotionally, I mean) "assigment" I ever did!

Worked slowly (5 rolls in 3 days). My idea was that the kids forget my presence with the camera. I think I got sucess with this. Of course then flash was not possible to use, and usually the place is very dark. Anyway, I prefer always photography with existing light.

Art? I dunno. It's Photoshop.

This is what you might call a created environment, based on a photograph by Vivian Maier. The sleeping man is the only remaining piece of her work, but the composition is hers. I put the man on the front seat of a 1935 Ford, pasted in an old view of Lincoln Way, Ames, Iowa, and hung one of my own hats on the floor shifter.

I thought I had already posted this, but it is the only sculpt that I have made that I think was any good. Sorry for how low quality the photo is.

It is either a giant, or a dwarf, depending on what scale you are working in.

A Confederate cemetery in Brazil

I think this serie is interesting... And maybe for the US folks it can be curious.

My parents live in a town called Americana. It's the only town in Brazil founded by US immigrants. These came after Civil War. Still today the descendants speaks a very different English (the vocabulary of pronounce from south in 1860s!) and have an annual party at this cemetery, in october.

One of my own watercolors in the style of William Matthews. It is of Randy Rieman, rancher and Cowboy Poet. This time the watercolor is done by me several years ago, I'm guessing about 10 or more.

Always like the hat he was wearing there. It was a photograph shot originally taken at the National Poetry Gathering in Elko, NV. He was conducting a class on twisting your own lariats.
The glare shot is on it is from the flash. It's at least one thing I've done that is hanging in my home. I think when I get the time I'll pick up the watercolors and paintbrushes again.

Cheers!

This image is of the artwork I did for a t-shirt for a friend of mine. He was doing his annual movie morning at a local teter and KOTCS was the movie to be shown. I immediately called him to make sure he had some decent artwork for his shirts that morning instead of some awful clip art that he was planning on using. So I basically took the image on line, pen and inked it and came up with a border using the leaked image of the crystal skull and made up three others in the corners just in case. And being a Disneyland fanatic, I put a hidden Mickey in the border down on the lower right side. It is very slight. As are the different skull images hidden in the stone border.

I had a slightly different idea with more of a comic book style, but my friend went with this one. He was super happy with the t-shirt that year.

Cheers!

Dan
