Sen. Warren G. Hooper's Fedora

Any ideas as to what brand it is? These are the best screen captures I could aquire. Taken from Mysteries at the Museum.

Some story:

Hooper was driving his green Mercury home to Albion from Lansing on Jan. 11, 1945, when he was killed execution-style, allegedly because he was about to testify before a grand jury about legislative graft.

He was shot three times in the head with a .38-caliber pistol in what authorities later believed was a professional hit, possibly committed by members of Detroit’s infamous Purple Gang.

It appears his death is still a mystery.
As far as the hat, who knows, looks like it was on his head when he was hit.

You need to blow up that center photo to get a clearer look at the crest on the liner....does not look like Stetson or Resistol as large as I can get it to magnify...

I think it is a Type AB negative Cavanagh.

Here's the best screencap I could grab of it. Cavanagh was my thought too when I saw the part of the crest, but then I looked at my Cavanagh Homburg and the crest is red on the right hand side, which I assume would have been consistent (if not, kinda defeats the purpose of the crest).
