If that Vanson had shorter sleeves I'd be all over it.

What's your height and wrist circumference? I am only 5'9" and both this and my Vanson America work for me because the sleeves tend to sit at the wrist with the sleeves wrinkling up because the cuffs are fairly tight when the zippers there are closed. You can see the sleeves are not overly long on me on the fit pictures in the linked thread.

5'8" I do have fairly big wrists (7.5") and I always thought I had longish arms - but turns out I do not. I wear a 34" sleeve in dress shirts, but a few weekends ago I did a massive all-day marathon tape measure session of all my jackets and turns out anything over 25" sleeve length is kind of no good for me. Although I am not a very small framed person, I don't have wide shoulders, either, so if the jacket's shoulders are wider than 19" I get the shoulder seam overhang/droop which adds an inch or so to sleeve length. Kind of limits my jacket choices in my preferred size of 42, which often come in at 25-26.... :(

I feel you. At 5'9 I often feel restricted in my choice of off-the-rack jackets because they usually are longer in the body than I like it. I'm fond of short styles and most sizes 42 are 26-27" backlength and I prefer a 25" which goes just past my belt.

Anyway, you know best what you need. If you have second-thoughts and need more measurements, fit pictures or whatsoever, let me know. I am 5'9, 180 lbs and from what you're telling me, I sense we have very comparable stature. My wrists are only 6.75" btw and this one is tight in the forearms and wrists, so I still think the cuffs may just rest on your wrist.

Thanks will do.

Oddly, I have a longer-than-proportioned torso, very short legs...I sometimes prefer a 'long' size jacket for the lower back coverage - but then of course, the sleeves practically cover my whole hand... The longer torso explains my not realizing I have shortish arms- which does actually make sense with short legs. I guess I am just freakishly built!
