I have a couple head pieces left ... choice things I held on to that are close to me because I enjoy them on my head

it's funny ... I though that packing up some of the absolute mint unworn extremely rare gems would hurt more than anything ... but the ones that stung a bit were the ones that I used to love to wear ..

I held on to 3 vintage pieces for myself and am holding 2 amazing pieces for my man Justin @splintercellsz
I hoped you had kept some for yourself. A hatless moon just don't seem right

Not surprised your collection got cleared out that fast, Moon. Some fantastic lids you had. Hopefully, they rest in caring hands and on caring heads.

You’re down to three hats? At first that made me sad but the more I thought about it the more impressed I was. Hats are just inanimate things and it can be liberating to free yourself of possessions. I suspect that the average middle class gentleman in the Golden Era didn’t have more than three hats.

I wish you well, Anthony. I hope to see you here in the Lounge from time to time too. Thank you for all the knowledge and photos you’ve shared over the years.

I'll be around ... didn't lose my love of hats ... just started to see how pointless having 150 hats was

I had them ... now let someone else have them

there are hats I owned for years and never wore once ... not the way I like to treat the things I own

I own amazing drum kits from the 60s and use all of them on gigs and record dates ... that's what they were built for

now if I had 150 drum kits how the hell would I use them all ?

I try not to own more than 5 kits at a time ... when I get up to 8 or 10 I sell ... just how my brain works ... they start sitting and becoming furniture ... not cool with me

binge and purge ... just my personality

my knowledge of the game is not going anywhere .. and I'm sure I'll buy more hats when I see one I cannot resist ...

but I'd rather let things go than hold onto them just because

things are just things

Well played Moon. I respect that. You helped me out on a few hats I had been eyeing. Sad our head sizes don't match. I like the way you think of this though. Glad you will be sticking around.

Just out of curiosity, what's left (other than Grandpa's Strat)? I'm guessing you kept at least one Strat, probably a Vita-Felt?
I kept one 50s OR that I love ... a grey one
an unlined Playboy circa 1940 that's pretty close to mint with gold over stock label and some awesome sweat debossments
and a 30s No.1 Quality

kind of covers all the bases I love

@moontheloon I always enjoyed looking at your 1940s Cavanagh pics. Selling that one too? Too bad it's not my size it would have to be reblocked.
Great hat collection btw.

I truly respect your style.
I collect a bunch of things too. most of them are stored in a storage and i don't even look at them for years. and sometimes i even forget i own it. i feel it's totally pointless...

last year, I read the book called "the Life Changing magic of tidying up"
then saw your post today which inspired me to reorganize my whole collection.
i think it's time to do it.
