Thanks to Lady Day for sharing this Sears ad of the Southwest Flight fedora.
I had always thought the Pilgrim hats to reflect the popular Stetson Open Road.
But now I believe it was the Stetson Stratoliner.
Here is a re-print of Lady days ad.
I searched and found several ads for the Flight model, but so far none has had the 'airplane ornament' in it.
Several ads made mention of the Flight model being a Pilgram also.
Here is one from 1951 Chicago.
And this one from 1948 is a straw.
Do any of you thin ribbon Pilgram owners have a hat that makes mention of the Flight model?
