Seamed stockings for the New Year!

A while back I posted an unpleasant experience in a grocery store with an leering man when I was wearing seamed stockings. I quit wearing them in public unless it was a special event and accompanied by hubby.

We spent the New Year's with friends and celebrated it 1930s-1940s style. Our friends had just recently created a 1930s parlor area in their basement and we spent the bulk of our weekend there visiting and listening to music from the Golden Era. I was the only lady wearing seamed stockings and it was the general consensus that they really completed the outfit. Not in a "raunchy" way, but that the stockings really made my dresses look more elegant and lady-like. I liked the compliments so much that I'm going to start wearing seamed stockings again more often. I've even placed an order for several more pairs. I did notice that they were less vulnerable to snags and such than my normal unseamed stockings. (I think I'll actually save money in the long run by buying quality stockings, rather than the cheaper unseamed ones.)

Here's a photo with my hubby taken on New Year's eve.

more photos coming

My hubby is also a FL member and wants to post more photos of our 30s New Year. They'll probably be posted in the Steamer Trunk or Events section, somewhere that everyone can enjoy them. We'll be sorting through them tonight. Our friends and us had a lot of fun posing for different shots. I think one day I changed my outfit 3 times!

The right place is indeed the Steamer Trunk, which is for adventures already completed.

Wow, I would love to have friend's with such a neat place!

I agree, seamed stockings really do complete an outfit. I get so many more compliments on a vintage outfit (from women, as well as non-leering men) when I wear my stockings.

There's something about those little touches, stockings, hats, gloves, etc. that just make someone all the more enchanting!

Bonnie Jean I am so pleased for you. I remember how upset you appeared to be over that incident - it's wonderful that not only have you had such a positive experience now but also that you're planning on wearing seams all the time now. Go you!

Looking forward to more photos too :D

I'm so glad Bonnie Jean, that you didn't let the whole rigamarole early this year keep you from wearing seamed stockings.

And I agree on the thriftiness of stockings too--you can always wear the other stocking that doesn't have the run in it with another pair extending the life even more!
