I was just wondering how some of y'all came up with your screen name.

Me, my name is Bob and most of my fedoras are Biltmores...thus, Biltmore Bob. Not very creative I know...how 'bout y'all?

Mine started on eBay...after trying every combination I could think of only to find that they had already been taken, something prompted me to type: "Johnnysan." (I think that I was watching a Jackie Chan movie at the time.) It went through and viola, there you have it - an overweight bald white guy in the Midwest with a markedly Asian-sounding screen name!

BTW - Biltmore makes a terrific hat! I have two of them and couldn't be happier with the quality. Hopefully, their comeback will be successful!

jake431 - well, my name is Jake (Jacob, if you want to get technical), and my Grandfather was a co-pilot/pilot in the 431st BS, 11th BG, 7th AF. All those numbers were too long, so I just used 431. And there you have it.

Type in your name. Have a laugh.

If you have the right proportions of vowels to consonants, limiting results to two or three words (advanced) can come up with some really catchy (although meaningless) phrases.

Well, my middle name is Bradford, though people call me Brad, and my surname is Bowers, so it only seemed natural. I've never been partial to anonymity on the Internet, I guess.

Mine comes from my Club Obi Wan name, Band Director Jones, as I am a middle school and high school band director. When I registered here (back when it was on the EZboard network) it would not let me put in "Band Director Jones"; it said the name was too long. So, I just abbreviated it to BD Jones.

My name is Andrew and I've worked in the computer industry for about 20 years, hence android. A coworker gave me the nickname right after Aliens came out. He'd call me android and I'd say don't call me that, I prefer the term artificial human.

My name is Karol Diane Lightner, I never use the middle name, so legally sign as Karol D. Lightner, but like to shorten it to K.D. Lightner or sometimes kdlightner. No-brainer.

I get a kick out of some of the names folks use on the site, some of the guys names I like are Ghos7a55assin and Duce Apocalypse, and some of the gal's names, i.e., jitterbugdoll.

I hope Holly tells us what ITG means. I've been wondering....

Zohar is a name in the Bible that I found humorous sounding. He was one of the long list of "begats" in Genesis. I've been using it for stuff since I was a kid.

For most things now I use Conan D. Librarian, but I'm afraid to change it because so many people know me as Zohar on here now.

Mine must seem rather obvious.
It comes from my vintage business name.

THAT, however, came from a casual conversation before opening my 2nd antique store. Someone asked me what the new store was going to be like and I said something like "ohh... it'll be like the old one, just elsewhere"

Um... I'm an Indiana Jones fan... so I guess Doc would be short for Doctor... Indy is short for Indiana... and Jones well is just Jones. LOL

Like BD Jones, I couldn't type Indiana Texas-girl (my Club Obi Wan name), so I opted for ITG, since that's what they call me anyway over there with my full online name being too long to type out.

Just stuck

We used to have a company focused on finding sponsorship for NASCAR race teams. Fun+tax.
So when I began needing screen names (1992), I just tacked "Race" onto Scott.
Has absolutely no meaning or significance now, but I've used it too much to replace it.

Mine is a convoluted tale of requiring an alias dating before I ever heard of the old 'intertron'. Mr. Black was too obvious and too like "Reservoir Dogs". Sable means black and has a few arcane connotations, according to the "Encyclopedia of Forbidden Knowledge". I made up the first name, Warren, and many folks, to this day figure I'm two different people.

Holy mackerel! Even the short version is convoluted!
