A very interesting jacket. I think it’s one of those Campus brands judging by the super glazed thick horsehide & the label. Fits me perfectly, need zipper re-haul, the large crown pull is aftermarket I think & it failed, all other pocket pulls are pull-less. The leather reminds me of what Schott uses back in the 90s that has a felt interlining.

Also, regarding the mildew smell on vintage jackets, I wonder if I should warm wash with soap, or just put it under the sun for a day

I had this Excelled branded jacket that had the same shiny finish with a Horsehide label. The Excelled labels are just glued on

I don't know if Excelled was a maker or just label. I just sold another HH Excelled in a Highwayman style. The labels was missing from jacket. I had seen another like it with the Excelled label. I see very few Horsehide marked Excelled. Typically a lower end product even in Horse.
