For reference, Schott told me the back length on the extra large is an inch longer (26.5").
I was on the fence about sizing up but I think I'll stick. I actually think the shorter back works, especially with the drop front. I should've chosen this length with my 30's HB.

Schott has a matching vest for $70. I think I'll buy that to wear under it when needed. Just waiting for the end of the month b/c they kick you a 15% off coupon that is valid at the end of May.

I dig the jacket. I used to have a closet filled with heavy Schott wool jackets. Just could never (often) wear them here. I donated 4 brand new ones with tags to a local "coat drive" some years back and that was the most joy I got from them. Well, that and selling one on to Worf ;)

For reference, what's your height and weight? It's a great fit.

Dang, I can feel my wallet getting nervous! That is the best looking, outdoorsy, red buffalo plaid, wool jacket I have ever seen. It's the only one I know of that doesn't look loose, baggy, and boxy. Not everyone likes that iconic American outdoorsman look, but I bet you've gotten your fair share of compliments.

What's nice is the cut. All of these types of jackets -including prior Schott's - are full cut, balloon-style jackets.
The cut and fit on Ton are what have me looking towards fall...

If you're looking to put a toe in the water without the price tag commitment the J crew outlet has/had this sweater. I bought it for $60 in December. If they still have it it's very nice. Wore it a lot this winter. Very thick/ itchy wool. Hard to tell from the pic but it's actually navy/red not black/red like the Schott.
