Lots of variations on this Schott style. This one im pretty sure has the naked hide leather, but is missing the zip in liner and probably snap on synthetic collar. Is buttery soft. Gorgeous patina. Guessing there's some salt type stains too, but I've cleaned and condition. All pretty good condition. Missing top collar snap.

I had the knitting replaced and new double elastic was installed for the action back over the summer.

Ended up getting a 3-16 schott A2, but I was really happy with this. One of those jackets with a ton of character and good cut.

Might keep in the pile for my two sons, but that's growing too much lol, and someone here might get better use.

$200 ppff, US only on this.

Ptp 22.5
Sleeve 26.25 (around the curve)
Back 26
Shoulder 19

Took some fit pics to compare with something else in another listing. Duplicate posting here for easier reference. Sorry...

I'm 6'0 185 lbs. I'd say the jacket fits like a true 42 as I have a size 41 chest. Most of the time I size down to size 40 or medium to get a snuggier fit, so this is a little relaxed on me. Getting these vintage jacket sizing down is a pain. This is marked 42 and fits like a 42, I think because of the action back. I have another I'm selling marked a 42 that's more like a 40.

weekend bump and price drop to $180 ppff US only. Otherwise I guess the kiddos can enjoy it in a few years. Too nice to give away especially after the repairs.

Don't remember what year, maybe mid 80s, but Schott started putting a tag usually in the hand warmer or coin pocket. Depending on how old, it may get worn out, but most hold up for several decades. That's #1 spot to check. Otherwise, you just have to do some detective work piecing together photos and model numbers. And then leather type is big indicator. Usually 100 series indicates their naked cowhide, very soft, matte finish, not too much grain vs 500 more pebble looking, also soft, vs 600 more top coat stiff (unless really really broken in, then soft and grainy, etc.).

Ah! You're actually talking about the 184 (naked cowhide) versus 684 (steerhide, which is coated) Of course. I understand now. My random collection is up to around 40 jackets, mostly 184SM but I do have six or seven 684s. I definitely get it now...thanks! Not really sure about the 5 series fitting into my obsession, because I want the zip-in linings and removable faux fur collars. Thanks for that info! Beware the crummy 80's versions of most of these though, it was a reaction by Schott to the huge fad at the time and led to some terrible leather being used.
