Just picked up this 115 in Brown naked leather . It's a size 48 and the measurements where perfect for me ...now . I've lost about 100 lbs in the last 1.5 years and have finally stabilized at about 225 lbs with a size 36 inch( 39 actual inches ) waist and a 48.5 innch chest at 6foot 2 inches .Any insight about this model would be greatly appreciated . I've got a Hein Gerieke and a beat up Vanson Cafe , but have been listing for Schott in Brown for a reward ( replacement) jacket once I stabilized my shrinkage.
What should I use if the leather needs conditioning ? Was also thinking about picking up a fur collar and was wondering about the best options to so ? Thanks for any insight and suggestions.

Yo! You bought this jacket from me. I wish you contacted me here... I got it listed on TFL as well.

Small but spectacular group here . Great to find it is someone here whom I purchased it from , it reinforces my confidence in the purchase . Thank you again for the opportunity to own what looks like a superb jacket .
Is the condition of the leather such that there is no need to use any conditioner any time soon ? What would you suggest I use when the time comes ? VENETIAN SHOE CREAM as Horween suggest for much of their leather ?

I have venetian cream and have some Mustang paste ( horse oil ) on the way. I use both on my boot collection ( WAY to many boots ) . Both are great but but are completely different in affect. Looking forward to arrival of jacket !

^^ So I am a boot guy too, specifically Pacific North West boots now (Whites, Nicks & Wesco) and I have found "Horseman's One Step" - a white pasty cream to be excellent on a good leather jacket. Then give a nice topcoat of White's Boot Preservative, or Pecards. Just be careful, do not over-condition your new jacket. Give it a thin coat of each, and you'll be good to go for a several months.

@Mrfrown has lived in your regional area for quite a while, and perhaps the bigger question for a warm, rather humid climate such as Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana is how to care for it during the 9-months out of the year when it's much too warm & humid to wear a leather jacket.

I'll definitely get more than 3 months of wear . North Alabama is warm and humidity but is in the foothills off the the Appalachian mountains . I'll get between 4 up to 6 months where it will be possible to wear. I the mountain i live on has a 1700 foot elevation. October thru March , even into April will be my range . I've been wear med to heavy jackets for most of my life thru those months.. every year or so a spraying of NIKWAX will keep it moisture resistant.

Ah - ok thanks for the clarification here. Correct, you'll have an experience much closer to someone living around the Tennessee/Alabama boarder, but at the higher elevations. Sounds like it will get a lot of good usage there.

Enjoy your new Schott! :)
