Hi Ladies
Has anyone bought Muffy's saddle shoes in awhile or even tried to contact them? I have tried to call them for over a week (though I'm in Spain, but I'm trying around the time their store opens and on Saturday). I even had my sister try to call from Indiana last night. She said no answer. I also have emailed twice and no response. Are they still open? It just seems really weird and I would like to order a pair of saddle shoes in the next 2 weeks. :( Thanks

I had tried to contact them a couple of months ago with no response to email or a number of phone calls. I gave up and bought elsewhere.

No sure if this is okay to say here:

I have a pair of Muffy's that I have been trying to return to them, no response, so I thought I'd sell them.

I needed an 8 1/2 M, what I received feels like an 8M.

If anyone is interested, let me know.

Such a shame. If you look at Muffy's FB page, you can see there have been problems for over a year at least. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Muffys-Saddle-Shoes/139708336086625 I was hoping to order shoes from them eventually. I'll have to try somewhere else. I do hope that nobody has fallen ill or the like.

I've heard and read here that in general Bass aren't the best for Saddle Shoes. Has anyone found a brand that is as well made as Muffy's?

Hi lidies.. I did manage to finally get hold of muffy's....but it took several tries. They don't seem to answer the phone true. I finally sent they a fax vía internet. They answered my question about size and got they to friends who brought them to spain. The service was excellent once i got hold of them. The Brown and white saddles i ordered are lovely and comfy and worth the money and effort. And they look authentic.

Hi, Barbara!
Tell me please, how they answered to you? Did they call or send an e-mail?
I need Muffy's saddle shoes so much! No one can ever imagine how!
I tried to contact them from two email adresses and by phone.
And I sent a fax, as you recommend. Still no answer. It is so sad.

I will give the Payless shoes a try. I bought some bass a couple years ago and not only was the fit wrong for me (the heel slipped) but the soles split on both shoes...

I bought my Payless saddle shoes from ebay and they lasted me five years. I did not wear them everyday I wore them once in a while. They are so comfortable.

When I first bought the saddle shoes I did not know they were a Payless brand until I got them. They are wonderful shoes the soles are thin but what I like to do with my shoes is add Dr. Scholl's Double Air Pillo http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0039NN13S/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/187-6064060-0470969 to make my shoes more comfortable and last longer. You can also get these from your local Walgreens or CVS.

A month ago I bought my second pair from Payless' web site and had them shipped to my nearest store. They were fine exactly what I had before. I was so happy. Utill I put them on I noticed there was something wrong with the front part of the sole of the right shoe it was loose. But not loose enough for me to stop wearing them. Everything was going well utill a few weeks ago. I began to notice how much my feet hurt and how numb the heel of my left foot was while wearing the saddle shoes. And learned the heel separated from the sole. Now I can not wear the shoes. And I can not return them since I already had them for a month. What I'll have to do is take my saddle shoes and have them repaired.
Fingers crossed they will not cost me a lot of money to have them repaired.
All in all even though I had a problem with the Payless saddle shoes I bought does not mean you should not go ahead and buy them. when you get them just triple check they come to you intact.

Good luck and I hope all goes well with your Payless saddle shoes.

I would take them back anyway. That's something they should be aware of! We will see how mine turn out. They havent' gotten here yet. I was just really shocked that the Bass shoes turned out so poorly. If this doens't work I am going to go by a cheap pair of canvas, keds type, shoes and paint them! lol

The outside bottom of the sole is thick and rubber which is fantastic. For me I only find the insoles feel thin. That is why I use the air pilos. I also clean my saddle shoes with a paper towel and Angelus 802 spot remover.
Thanks for the info on the Bass shoes I bought a pair of their penny lofers but they never sent them. I E-mailed them and they refunded my order. Now I am superduper happy I never got my Bass shoes. Now I am on the look out for 1940's style oxfords with laces and no high heels.

Hi Polly

Sorry, I hadn't checked this thread in ages. I spent about 3 weeks trying to get in touch with them. I tried everything. I even contacted the businesses that were across the road or nearby to ask them if they are around. Margaret Marshall <muffy@muffys.com> is who dealt with my order, but the email address that responded to my constant queries and potentially that internet fax was muffy@europa.com. Have you tried that email? I know it's frustrating. I hope mine last forever, because it was a journey getting them. I think they just don't answer the phone much at all, so that never panned out for me. Good luck to you.

Hello, this is my first post ever at The fedora lounge. *waves*

I bought my first saddle shoes ever less than a month ago, from Rocket Originals.

The postage to Germany was really fast, they were really nice about replying to all the questions I had regarding size and the shoes not only look nice but also fit perfectly, even though they are longer than any shoes I own. My feet are wide and around 25,3 centimetres long and I got the ladies size 7, in case this helps anybody.

I got the green/cream ones, but plan to eventually get it in every colour option they offer, as those really became my go-to shoes when I know I will need to walk a lot and need comfortable shoes. The next ones on my list are the black/white ones, which I will hopefully order begin of november. :D

Hi Engel, and welcome. Love your avatar, do you do your own victory rolls? If you ever get to one of the many vintage festival weekends in the UK, you will find Rocket Originals at most of them. But he is a tad dear compared to some others. However, I have always found them very helpful with either complaints or returns.
