Its basically an Indy style jacket. Looks nice. You often don't get enough images to be able to really make up your mind but I reckon it should be good.

I'm no leather expert, but I thought goatskin was a soft premium leather, wouldn't an ACTUAL oilworker's jacket have been made of something a bit more robust like Steerhide?
Correct me if I be wrong....

I find goatskin to be very robust, even if lightweight. I don't think I would describe it as soft - at least in the sense of something soft like lambskin.

However, I have no idea as to the historical accuracy of this coat.

It's an interesting Indy/A2 long half belt sorta concoction.
I like it, but passed based on price. They make nice jackets, but for a bit more, you can get a great jacket.

You are thinking of lambs skin, goatskin is very abrasive resistant. That is why the US Navy used it for their M422 jackets. The Army Air Corp picked horsehide, because they had far more men to equip and goat is much harder to get.

Maybe even Oil Pulled Steerhide? I'll be here all week; try the veal.
