ROPE ROLLERS!!!

Ok ladies.. esp. Lolita, Mamajama and Faythe and those with LONG hair... take a look at these babies!

Ok, but they're mega exspensive! I figured there must be a cheap way to make them, in any diameter we want. Did some searching and found this by Stephe Hairman of AllExperts.com;

Home Depot carries white nylon rope in different diameters. Each only need to be about 12" long. To seal the ends you can get a rubber "dip" also sold there. It's used for marine uses and dipping tool handles into to restore the rubber coating. Just dip each end in and let it dry. Simple as that.

You just roll and knot them! Will be so easy to sleep on and no band marks. Plus, you can spiral or roll regularly. And of course, can be used to perm with as well.

Great idea, but wouldn't they be hard to knot? Also rope knots are big and bulky, so it might not be too comfortable to sleep on!

That's a cool idea! I'd try it! Although I'd probably only sleep on them if the rope is soft.

You know.. I really really really wish we could have the hair like they make for some of the dolls... where you can just decided to have long hair one day and short the next and then long again. Then I could really try out all of these methods and see how they work. Doll heads are far too expensive!! and growing out my hair takes too long! lol

Would depend on how fat they are. Would also be cool to make your own "button strap" type of band to go over the hair. Cut the rope in more roller size lengths, more like those crocheted rollers that someone posted a while back.

I have also read on the net that someone took one long continuous peice of rope and kept rolling each section of hair on the same peice of rope. I'd hafta practice this one, but that would be cool too.

What a cool idea! My hair is past my shoulders right now so these would probably work.

What kind of curl would it give? (this may be a terribly naive question, but I'm new to all of these different ways to curl hair. I've only ever used hot rollers and a curling iron!)
