Rockabilly Clothes

Where can I buy Rockabilly and vintage type clothes at a reasonable price? I have found some sites, but their prices are really out of my range, like £125 for a dress, I can not justify spending that much on clothes, so I am looking for a more reasonable priced site.

Thrift shops and second hand shops are great as well as buying patterns and making your own... I love to go to yard sales and Goodwill here in the states...

I second making your own. Much cheaper than repro or real vintage, more fun, and you can customise the garment to your exact liking and size. And patterns are pretty cheap

Yep. Also, reproductions are pretty much always going to be expensive, and rightfully so. The individuals who have their own businesses put lots of care into their garments and typically so do the "bigger" ones that are around.

However, vintage-INSPIRED could be cheaper if you waited for those items to pop up at stores like F21 (I guess Primark is your equivalent), H&M, etc. Of course, they're usually lower quality, so it's give and take.

I think it's possible to pick up a few things in shops like Next, Dotty P, New Look, etc. Like cute cardigans or pencil skirts. With the nauticle trend that's still going strong there's lots of 50's based designs around which might be good for a rockabilly style. Why right now I'm wearing a nice leopard print scarf from Tesco's. What? It was £5! I could not refuse!
I am planning on making a skirt form a pattern soon. With the help of my mum. It's the first "proper" thing I'll make so I'm looking forward to it.

Sometimes you can get lucky in thrift shops and pick up very "retro" sun dresses. There's a lot of dresses made in the 80s that have a 50s vibe. I've got a couple I wear all the time in summer and picked up for under $8 a piece. Just become familiar with styles and keep your eyes peeled. Takes a lot of patience, but every once in a while you find something really cute.

I've found being patient is the key to finding vintage bargains. Things always come up if you have the time at charity shops, car boot sales, etc. And for day-to-day I'm another one for prowling the high street. There's been some lovely bits around in recent years that are 50's inspired.

I look for retro stuff on the high street and in charity shops because I have the same price issues as the OP. Occassionally I've got lucky and my MIL who's petite like me has found some of her old clothes and given it to me but they're not in colors that suit me well (mainly dusty shades of heather and plum but I need clear shades) so that's a small compromise there.

At first I wanted to be a puritan but I have to accept a fair amount of mixing.
