Is there any way that I can fix this myself?

take it off and steam it. You could also get a knife hot, and use it like you would use an iron to get the wrinkles out of the ribbon while it's still on the hat.

sometimes this leaves the ribbon a bit slack, but since your hat has that kind of band, it's quite easy to fix that.

How do I put it back on then, is it glued somehow?

You see how it wraps around?
The ends are secured with little hooks, and the ribbon probably small bits of double sided tape, which, at least on the onoes I have had, have lost most of the stickiness by this point.
Does anyone want to second me on this before I go and tell him to do something he's going to regret?

Forget the hot knife on this one Bolthead. Just unhook it and use a steam iron on the BACK side of it, trying to keep the swirl (curve) to the ribbon. Actually the term for this one is a Pugaree. If there is double sided tape just replace it with new tape or you can tack it down at the bottom of the ribbon around the hat.
Should be a "piece-o-cake

Ok, that didn't work....

Thanks for the tip Art, but that didn't work. When I tried to get the ribbon off in tact with the swirl like you said, I noticed that she, the owner had 2 small staples holding it together. :eusa_doh: Can you believe it? So I had to take it apart and try to start form scratch, well needless to say I need a plan B. Good thing is I didn't really care for the style of ribbon anyway....bad news is, I don't know where to get another one to put on it. I did save the 2 little hooks though.

Any further help is very much appreciated.
