I have a borsalino hat and id like to switch the ribbon. I s there any specific sewing machine used to change ribbons? and whats the best technique?

funny, i am on the forum looking for sewing suggestions for both sweatband and ribbons. I read that monofilament thread is preferred. I already repaired a loose headband on my Open Road

I've done a few. I am an amateur. It is definitely a needle and thread type of thing.

Make your tack stitches as small as possible. And get good ribbon. Others will know the best compositions.

To me, the bow is the most fun part. You can be as creative as you want to be.

I've done a few grosgrain ribbons on various hats. I use a hot glue gun. I know it's not the best or proper way to do it but it has worked for me. Here is one.

My latest one I used petersham ribbon because you can iron a curve in so it doesn't need tacking. I'd love it if someone can share a ribbon video
