Reviving Forgotten Threads

Harmless Threads

I'd just like to ADD something to this particular thread. I realized that some of the old threads are being brought up, and I am sure there are many that shouldn't be brought up again. To this, even though I am still pretty "New" here, I do suggest you do please be wise on what you revive. Some of these threads bring haunting memories back. So before deciding to respond to an old thread, think about how it might affect others if it comes back. Revive harmless threads. :)

Reviving Another Old Thread

Lost in the depths of the Fedora Lounge.

I see mixed feelings on reviving old threads.
Opinions being good and bad.

But we are gaining new memebers every day who haven't contributed yet, and may have something to say or want to share their opinions on a subject that is now new to them.

I love looking back through the forum archives, and I am noticing a number of duplicate threads.

I am still new here and have learned from other forums that duplicating a thread is more irritating than bringing back an old one.

When I see people starting the same thread that I know is only a page away I just want to ignore it and say geezz..I just responded to that 2 days ago.

The search link on this forum has never let me down yet.
I find the forum topic the subject should be in, then click search this forum.

I almost started a dup thread about superstitions, but I knew it had to be out there already. Sure enough it was.
What is that saying about great minds thinking alike.

Again, I really do like reading some of the older threads. We have a lot of great information around here. I hope no one gets upset if I bring one back once and awhile.

Nearly every thread I start is deleted within hours. Many of my posts are edited or deleted. This is despite the strict use of clean language. This place is lousy with heavy-handed "bartending" and censorship to an Orwellian extreme. What a drag.

I can't say that I noticed any of your threads started and deleted.

I can always see both sides to an argument.
We are all from all different backgrouds, religious beliefs, and political views.
I'm sure the bartenders are watching those topics because of that, and they just don't want it to get out of hand.

If I had to sit and read through threads of arguing, and some peoples opinions not based on any research as on other forums I have visited, I think I would get tired of it. But there are forums for eveything.

I can see wanting to post threads about things you truly believe in also.
I would love to post on products made in the USA and rant about that until no end, but, I'm sure the people from other countries on this forum wouldn't appreciate listening to me.

We just all have to find the peaceful middleground.

Sorry that your threads that you like get deleted.

If the threads are that dangerous, shouldn't they just be deleted?

Aren't the bad ones, i.e. politcal ones, already locked?

Yes, I was interested in your Tell Someone Off Day thread in the Events section but of course I procrastinated and it had already been deleted. See, MudInYerEye, the problem might be that some people think you are joking.
