I went to the Miller Hats web-site. They have fedoras and straws again! They're reintroducing the OC Explorer coming late Feb 2013, so NOW!!

I went to the Miller Hat site to look at the straw hats. I am new to hats so can someone tell me what "Panacool Straw" is.

Their Panacool is basically a Panama-style straw hat with a fedora shape. $60 is a great price for that; it might be a [near] future purchase for me!

The hat I purcased from them was custom crafted by Biltmore.

Biltmore Hats of Canada was purchased by Dorfman Pacific.They closed up the factory in Guelph Ont. about a year ago and production of the Biltmore brand was moved to Texas. Biltmore of Canada used to make hats for Miller.
Hence Toms question in post # 3. I have been wondering the very same thing. If bradbraden's hat was made in the US, we would have our answer.

The 257 (and some of the others) appear to be renamed versions of stuff Miller used to carry. If so, I used to own the 257. Not too bad, but I wouldn't wear it in the rain. Looks sharp!

No, Dorfman Pacific has a factory in Garland, they aquired when they purchased another western hat maker, Milano.
