Hi to all,
I'm looking for an hat, open crown (I think could be better) for reshape it into a Boogie shape, I love very much that kind of shape (I think for me could be better with more wider brims).
What about Akubra Fedora, to do it?
Anyone have any idea about?
Anyone has a Bogie hat,any pics?

Many thanks.

Miller, again!

I don't know about Akubra's Fedora. The Fedoration is nice, but the brim might be wider than you'd want. So, I have to recommend Miller again. They have an open crown hat that has a choice of three colors and three brim sizes! Use the link, and scroll down to the lower pictures, Style: 257 "Miller Raider 257 Hat" Open Crown.

Hope it helps.

Every time I assume something I end up with egg on my face, so, just to be certain:

You want a hat shaped like a hat Humphrey Bogart would wear, is that correct? Or is there a "boogie" shape of which I'm not aware?

I think you would be quite happy steaming any good vintage Open Road, Stratoliner, or Borsalino. They were all open crowns before they were blocked. I get vintage hats in all the time, and most of them I steam into open crowns, so when they are sold, I can provide the shape the customer likes. What size are you my friend?

I would tend to agree, a vintage OR w/ a 2 3/4" brim would, in my humble opinion, be just the ticket.

I love the Bogie crease more than any other. A deep diamond that's not quite "perfect." It's hard to achieve when you have an egghead like me, the top always bottoms out before the sweatband snugs up against my forehead. So tall crowns and for me, a hat that's a little tighter than my normal 7 1/4 makes it a bit easier.
I'm pretty satisfied with the crease I got in my Knox Twenty. I think it's about as Bogie as I've gotten any hat to look.

I have caribou (grey) Stetsonian that's still in the box after 5 months since it arrived from Delmonico hatter's. It's so beautiful and I have so many other hats that I have not taken it out to play with shaping the crown. Cause I have my center dent temples and my tear drop whippets basically the 2 styles I wear. So thanks for the inspiration. Maybe I'll play around with this shape and see how it fits me
