Side air eyelets are fine the front eyelet is more for a badge.

Hey that's my avatar! I have a cap very similar to Jake's that I often wear without the Eagle. Not too dissimilar to the one worn by pilot Frank Towns in the original 'Flight Of The Phoenix' movie.

Boy that pic was taken when i was sick what a mess i was in !
OK my cap does sit higher & it has a flap (thingy) to support a Shield if needed
But i smash em back far to get that rear taper..
