VThere are also some vintage-style S&P sweatshirts for about the same price point. You can't tell by the photo, but the shawl collar has leather vintage-style woven buttons.

I checked these out today and ended up buying the shawl in a medium. Marked $26.99, it was apparently on some sort of discount, as I was charged $20 +tax. It's not perfect, but for $20, it's not half bad.

The regular sweatshirt in the same size was way too small on me and they didn't have a large, which would probably have been too wide.

Hey! I did make that belt for him....he's a stellar musician and a great guy to boot! Glad you got to catch his act.

Badass! I just did a little write up about him today!

And Matt, I remember seeing that little "debate" on your FB about Target selling reproduction styled clothing. I didn't wanna step in, because it would've made it ugly!

I've got to say, I had the chambray shirt from last year, and it feels a bit more "legit" than the Gap version. There's something about the repro workwear that Target puts out that makes sense to me, more so than the higher end/more era-specific repros. Buying clothes from a department store, that you would work in? I don't know... I know that some of the higher end repro are a little more "era specific" in make, but buying em from a department store seems a bit more era specific in well... actuality!

Maybe it's just me.

Looks pretty good, Lefty, the marl is real nice without coming across as false. I bagged a very nice 'single V' sweat in Target when we were over your side o'the pond a couple of years back, excellent quality and quite surprisingly good with the details... on the same kinda tip, I'm with flat-top in that the 'big box' and 'High Street' stores over here, such as Gap, that did show a little promise in terms of occasionally coming up with something you'd wanna buy have gone completely back to square one (with the emphasis on L7) this season...

Where we live has been warm and rainy, a combo I really don't care for, so I picked up one of these light wax Penfield jackets on sale for £40 from the UK 'trainer' store Size? of all places - notice the semi-circular front entry pocket detail, a la Rising Sun's awesome denim outdoor vest:

That sweater looks great Lefty! Like a wise friend of mine said, in a year from now the mainstream will have forgotten about workwear....

Thanks for the positive comments.

VM, the Lofgren cap is better than any vintage cap I've handled - though my experience with caps is somewhat limited. The width and quality of the sweat is what really sets it apart. Again, if you're ever looking to get rid of a few more, I'm in.

I picked up the the Target shawl collar today. Definitely worth $20. Strange that it's on sale considering that it's brand new. Grab it before it's over!
