FYI - J. Crew makes a different quality item for their "outlet" store...not the same items as sold in their normal retail chain.

Very true. I got a sun faded red chambray for $40 that's no where near the quality of the regular retail style it's based on. I love the shirt, but it's missing all the bells and whistles of the $98 one.

I just ordered mine. Lovely shirt.

By the way, do you know if there's any way to navigate through the Worker's site to that page in English? From the front page, I can only find the Japanese version! Am I missing something?

Try installing "Google Chrome" as your browser. It will automatically prompt you to translate the page from Japanese to Engrish.

Well, there's definitely an English langauge version of the page - the link you gave originally is to an English-language page hosted on e-workers and not one that's been run through Google Translate and translated on the fly... but I can't seem to navigate to that page directly. Which is weird.

They don't publish the page in English normally, I think they just create those pages for overseas customers to order from.

Ah, that makes sense.

Have you ordered from them before? His stuff is lovely.

I have two Big Yank style shirts, a pair of salt n' pepper pants and a pair of the denim buckleback carpenter jeans. All are spectacular but run about a size smaller than the stated size. For example the moleskin s & p pants were tagged 38, but measured much closer to a 36. Fine with me because that's my real size, but would be bad if you didn't know any better. The pants tend to run a little short in the rise as well.

Oooh, those salt-n-pepper pants look amazing. I'm on the lookout for something similar... I got a pair of brown workpants from Lofgren / Cushman recently and have a craving for a pair of pants in the same style in salt-n-pepper. Any ideas?

I have two pair of the S&P and one pair of the brown from Cushman....all killer!!! John at Speedway tells me they are coming out with some new stuff. They have several pairs on their website that are not on eBay. You can contact him through eBay about any of the items on the website:

Yeah, I got my brown Cushman's from him. I've had so many compliments about them - and whodathunk it for what are essentially a pair of brown trousers! The material's amazing, the fit is great, and the details are something else! :)

No, mine are only moleskin...no colored flecks in them. Those are pretty nice looking though. Been thinking about the brown ones with stripes:

Oh, they're lovely! I don't think my budget can spread to 3 new pairs though! Hah! I should give my bank manager your phone-number!

The pair you have are exactly the same as the brown ones, but in black, aren't they?

The S&P pepper ones are a thinner moleskin material than the brown ones. The brown ones have sort of a horizontal grain that's pretty unique. I've purchased them over a period over about 12 months, so not that painful at once.

Bragent?
I got these at a yard sale about 2 years ago, threw them in the back of my closet, and forgot about them until recently. I can't find much of anything on the brand, which is pretty new - Bragent, since 1968 - except for a few hits on Rakuten (like Amazon in Japan, I think), which indicates that they're made in Italy, and seem to be kind of pricy. The workmanship doesn't seem that great, but they're really comfortable pants.

Anyone have other info?
