Replacing the cuffs and waistband on an A2

Hello all,

I posted before about my Eastman, and I still think that it's a wonderful jacket. The wool, however, seems to be getting a bit tatty. The gentleman from whom I bought it must have been bigger around the middle than I am, because the waistband just sort of...hangs. It doesn't snug up the way it ought to, so I'd like to replace it. Before I go making a mistake, is there anything that I ought to know before I do so? I found some proper looking cuffs and band on ebay, but I would hate to inadvertently damage such a nice coat.

Anyone have any advice or input, or experience on the matter?

Cheers,

I hate flimsy knits. IF getting a jacket built, can one ask for double-knits so they are thicker, does that exist?
