REM sleep - dreams

Last night I dreamed that I was at some vague social event and that a young girl-next-door type woman cozied up to me and started to flirt like there was no tomorrow. I was basking in the attention, then I suddenly said “Don’t you realize that I’m old enough to be your father or maybe even your grandfather?” Then I woke up.
I’m even an idiot in my dreams.

I've had dreams that have taken place in a high school or college setting. Oddly, in those dreams I don't seem out of place, especially to others because I'm either much younger or I'm somebody else, inhabiting their body like in the TV show Quantum Leap.

OK these are my dreams I remember long after (some years after waking up)
1. I walked into a huge tree that is actually a church, and then inside the church it was dark until I saw an old priest or minister or monk (?) not sure only his face shown holding a chandelier, and he turned ugly and angry and moving (or floating) toward me, so I ran through spiral staircase and on and on and on downward, yikes.

2. I felt like I was driving in a car in familiar neighborhood in my city with lots of crossings and business places somewhere near our city center, on the right side on one crossing I saw an old house colonial style that was repurposed as a small diner, so I parked and walked inside browsing what kind of food they're selling through their display, I was the only customer, so the owner showed me a special menu inside a chiller box styled like a wooden box somehow, and inside I saw a lot of chess pieces pawn, knight, rook, bishop, etc. all beautifully made from wood and carved like figurines, the owner told me I can order a custom chess pieces and it was not expensive, and it would be finished as I eat my meal there, awesome, and then I woke up.

3. I somehow called to visit my church but the road going there felt a bit different suddenly it was in neighboring city, and when I got closer I saw my church was on a small island surrounded by moat with a bridge that only fit one car, the road going there is also getting scarier tall cliff on one side ravine on another side, so I parked my car on the big parking lot that belongs to another church a catholic church and decided to just walk there on foot. then somehow the sky got darker like about to rain, so I walked inside that catholic church which turned out to be an all you can eat restaurant, I saw a lot of people getting free food on their plastic container to bring home I thought how shameless, horrible and greedy these people, so I was standing there some people asked me why won't I sit and eat some, I said no, I just waited for the rain to subside a little still have to walk there, but the rain got harder and I saw lots and lots of people coming into this restaurant and they all eat like they were really hungry, so I felt I better step out feeling awkward as I was the only person standing there not taking a seat to eat, as I left that " catholic church" or restaurant, the rain subsided but the day turned twilight and it was too late to walk there to my own church on foot, so I just decided to drive back home, on the parking lot near where I parked my car I saw the car that belongs to my mother's family I remember oh yeah their family is catholic, and then I met my mother with my younger half sister, they asked me why would I be there, I told them my story and how I wanted to drive home now, they offered me a lift I told them I drove my car there, so we all drove home.

I don't know the meaning of these dreams

another time I dreamed a jacket design, it was glorious I thought this is my ultimate jacket, everything make sense and looked cool, I woke up in the middle of the night still remembered the dream I thought about drawing it on paper now, but I remembered it so well it was no need to draw it now, so I went back to sleep and when I woke up in the morning I still remembered it, and with clear mind I realized how cartoony and horrible my "glorious ultimate" design was... it made no sense whatsoever.

the only recurring dreams is
1. I saw a soap bar on a wet slippery bathroom floor, I tried not to step on it and slip but always a moment later I was losing my balance, and my whole body felt lifted and slammed back onto the bed
2. I saw a toilet bowl, very clearly, I even think about is it real or a dream, I really want to pee, but then I clever enough to think back how do I even arrive in this toilet do I remember walking here, NOPE, this is a dream, so I jumped off the bed, ran to the toilet to pee.... my much younger self would have wet the bed.

I dreamed about family members who are no longer with me, my grandma, my grandpa, my father too sometime, but not in a meaningful way,

in dream I saw my grandpa on a scooter I thought he looked ridiculous, he never owned a scooter in his real life.

I dream about riding in a car with my father on a highway in high speed, most likely recollection of my childhood, he like to drive fast even in rainy days on highway, but in my dream thing I fear in real life happened the car hit the barrier, and rolling and rolling, rotating all direction and I was awake all the time, I see traffic around me, I feel upside down, no pain at all, it was pretty fun like a video game.
another time I dreamed about him driving the car again but this time going backward at full speed, and through the side window I saw all horror story scenes he liked to tell me as a kid, obviously not scary at all now.
he was not die in car accident, he died of colon cancer. so totally meaningless. I don't drive fast in real life either.

I dream about my grandma too, just going to usual places, or doing something familiar like morning walk or eating familiar food, nothing special.

sometime in mid dream I remember these person is already dead but it doesn't change the story of the dream or tuned it into a more meaningful one, I never hear them telling me anything wise, or have meaningful meeting totally random stuff.

I seem to forget my old dreams? I only remember dreams right after it happens for a day or two, I dont remember dreams from years ago, because nothing really happened

sometimes I have dreams about a person from the past , then do some searching and find out they recently past away? almost like they were calling out to me to let me know they died?

I was thinking of an old childhood / HS friend and searched his name and found out he past away from a massive heart attack , something made me wonder about what ever happened to him and I saw his obituary.

A blond goes to a pyschoanalyst & says;
" Doctor ...I have the same dream every night. I'm in front of a large door & I push & push & push again until I'm exhausted but the door never opens."
" Interesting. Is there anything written on this door ?"
asks the doctor.
"Yes." Replies the blond, "Pull."

Had a curious dream, last night.

I had a younger sister, black hair, maybe 12 years old, which was handicapped and couldn't talk clearly and complete words. She felt much more comfortable in my nearness and when my parents were not around. So that (seemingly) early afternoon, my parents left again and I took care of my sis. She immediately relaxed, when we were alone. I did any kind of little homework in a kitchen or whatever kind of room that was. My sis was next to me. Suddenly, she was able to say a clear short sentence to me. My heart melted and I couldn't really say something. :)
Later, our parents came back and I said, what happened, but I still couldn't fully realize it.

Re: Dreams: Funny you should mention it. Last night I had one of my standard "repeating dreams". I probably dream it four or five times a year: That I am lost in a big foreign city with lots of hills and I am wandering the narrow streets looking for my hotel. In last night's version, I found it; which is rare. The funny thing is, in my dream I seem to be familiar with both the city and the hotel. But when I wake up, it is alien. (When I was young I used to have "I can fly" dreams. No longer. I miss those.)

I often have dreams of levitating. It's a wonderful feeling, and so real, it seems that I ought to be able to actually do it.

Regarding dreams - I have noticed that, if I leave town and stay somewhere else overnight, I sleep better due to not dreaming. Yet, the moment I come back home to my town of residence, the dreams start right back up. I tend to experience 2 dream cycles per night. I will wake up after the first, get a drink or such, and then go back to sleep. I dream nearly every night and sometimes it is exhausting.

I had an interesting dream, last night and woke up, feeling uncomfortable.

I dreamed, that I moved from my own apartment into a shared apartment, for whatever reason. I felt uncomfortable from the beginning on. Two other people living there with me, an old man and a younger guy of circa my age.

So far so good. I had the biggest room for me, quasi a/the living room. BUT it was a walk-through room between the other young guy's room and the rest of the apartment with the old man's room and all other rooms. So, there was very often someone walking in and through my room.

Man, was I happy, when this dream was over!

I had a windshield love note placed beneath the window wiper on my Jaguar once, necessitating a night traffic
court appearance where I shocked the magistrate by declaring guilt and tendering sufficient explanation to expiate
and address my negligence for not having first paid the $25 Oak Lawn windshield decal before actually driving
the newly purchased cat. I couldn't wait, and assumed erroneously a grace period of uncertain duration but
sufficient unto the moment to commit myself to an action without justification for having done so,
apologized for whatever transgression concurrent with not having affixed requisite decal.
Two tickets were involved. The first was tossed, and the second fine downgraded.

Walking out to my car I stopped at the town war memorial which lists all fallen Oak Lawn residents from
Afghanistan and Iraq down through the Black Hawk War (1832); my war was Vietnam and I focused on the roll
of names for that period, and found a name and death citation for parachute failure USA. The man was an E-2,
"e deuce" in Gi parlance and he burned in a drop zone, Benning or Bragg and at private second class
he was fresh out of advanced Infantry. He was in jump school. So the black hats took off his jump boots
and passed them down the line so every guy could see bones and blood. Did anybody want to quit?
No one would. He was dead. Most likely eighteen or nineteen.

I had a bad dream that night. A malfunction at a speed fall of 120 miles per hour from a buck-fifty standard
drop 1,500 feet will bounce a body at impact. And everybody sees it happen. And nobody quit.
No one ever does with a malfunction.

And I was feeling very satisfied with myself with traffic court and a few bucks saved out of pocket....

I would say some of my strangest most recurring dreams involve restrooms. I've had dreams of being chased by something in dark hallways and caves, and having to seek refuge in cavernous, maze-like restrooms. Sometimes there are other people in the dreams and other times not. The strange things is I don't always have these dreams and wake up and need to go to the restroom. I've probably had at least two to three restroom dreams yearly since I was a kid.
