Recommendations for a summer blazer

It looks nice - you paid 'buttons' for it, too!

I would suggest a switch to gold tone or at least chrome buttons to give it more of a traditional 'blazer' look, as suggested above, but it looks like a nice looking jacket, assuming the fit is good.

So, does a 'vintage' Navy blue blazer look any different than the ones being manufactured today?

There are many others who can tell you better, though to the best of my understanding, the classic English blazer has changed only in small stylistic details (width and shape of the epaulettes) over the years, and the fit (the usual drill - arm hole height, general fit over the body / waist - more modern is boxier with lower armholes, often). I've not seen one identical to yours in person, but in my experience the better branded items do tend to have a better form-fit than high street own-brand equivalents most of the time.

I'm a blazer man myself and usually buy from brooks brothers, burberry's or JCrew.
If it is warm in the summer where you are going I recomend a chino material.
