I went to a Ray Mears lecture tonight and as always he tells stories of explorers and deeds of survival. He started off talking about the Hubbard expedition to find lake Michikamau with Dillon Wallace and George Elson.
It seemed a real boys own adventure of an affair and to think of the heavy duty clothing from A&F,when they sold real adventure clothing, Iater they discarded the heavy coats as they thought is was too warm and not thinking of the winter ahead, they also ate most of their supplies to cut down on weight as they were carrying it overland. I found the evening most interesting, not sure I would have survived their ordeal but then I think I may have planned it better. Three men and a canoe!.
Love the photos.
