Rare Original photos of A-2s

Not sure if anyone’s ever seen those pictures, but just found them (was randomly searching A-2 images on the net). These are high quality 8th Air Force colour pics from 1942, I think they look great – you almost feel like you’re there! Some great quality photos of A-2’s in there. Can anyone tell what type of A-2s they are?

The pic with the chaplain is dated 1944 even tho it's obviously one of Bourke-White's color shots from '42. There was no more OD paint on planes by '44 - not in the ETO anyway - and bomber crewmen rarely wore goggles by then.

Great photos without a doubt. Just curious about pic. 4 and the small appliance on the ground just in front of the aircraft. Perhaps a generator?

I think your guess is spot on, powering up the internal systems to test without the need to run up the engines. Very nice photos.

These are great colour photos. Sadly the pics are not quite good enough to aid 100% accurate identification, but I believe I can see an Aero, Star and possible a Cable.
