I've always admired and would like to see fly again in person these Italian Macchi Racing Seaplanes from the 1920s and 1930s.

Aside from ANYTHING found on the "when-is-it-going-to-be-completed, already?" Luftwaffe 1946 website, I think maybe a B-29.

The B-29 "Doc", owned by The United States Aviation Museum, is currently undergoing
a complete restoration. The work is being done at the Boeing
works in Witchita Kansas by volunteers and retired Boeing workers.http://home.att.net/~sallyann5/b29/usam3.html

Oops! It might help if I read a bit more carefully.

The M.C.72 and M.C.39 are both on display at the Italian Air Force Museum at Lake Bracciano, near Rome.

Boeing XB-15 perhaps?

Apols - I can't post pics from here at work.

Only one built, so qualifies as rare. Despite the 'X' designation it was converted into a transport and served throughout the war in the Carribean as a transport.

Scrapped in 1945:(

How about the pitch on those contra rotating props!

Whatever happened to the American entry into the 1929 race, the Mercury Racer?

While I'm slightly O/T (its too early), I musty confess a love for the Boeing P26.
