One of my favourite old time radio programmes is It's Higgin's, Sir! first broadcast in 1951 to temporarily replace The Bob Hope Show. It only lasted for 13 episodes but it was wonderful, starring Harry McNaughton, Vinton Hayworth, Peggy Allenby, Charles Nevil, Pat Hosley, and Denise Alexander.

An English butler, Higgins ("not Mr. Higgins, it’s Higgins, Sir!") joins an American family, the Robertsons, with chaos and culture clash abounding. Higgins was bequeathed (along with silver the he’s polished all his life) to a typical American family. Head of the Robertson household explains to his wife, "He’s not a really a man, he’s an Englishman!"

One can listen to a number of streamed episodes via this link (scroll down the page that opens to see all of those available):

These episodes are, as far as I can tell, in the Public Domain.
