He was within easy driving distance of me, too.

Do we have a general craftperson thread on this site? I know we have one
for art (and one for Art), but what about metal, wood, etc. ?

I was sad to read about this over at Badger and Blade. I have (or had) several of his pieces, and he was always a pleasure to deal with. Condolences to his family.

I have one of his razors. I wanted more, but that certainly is not the most profound way in which he will be missed.
