Guys, any advice over the next few hours. I'm looking at bidding for a Dobbs of 5th Avenue retro Fedora hat (well, that's their description of it) . Original price tag on it was $36.50 (do maybe you can kind of date it from that??).

The colour is described as mink. I like the wide hat band on it (I don't know the lingo guys, sorry!) and the darkish brown colour. Plus it's in my size. Any advice on this guys, or is it just a pig in a poke?

Thanks in advance.

I would probably agree with AndyKev on this one. It looks to be a hat from the 1960s era with an under welted brim edge. The logo inside the hat also looks to be from a later vintage. A vintage Dobbs has a label that is all gold (lettering and logo). The edge would also likely be a cavanaugh edge---a seamless edge that is near impossible to tell where it ends and begins.
I think what you need to look for is something like this:

The color might not be right but the style is. This hat has a bound edge brim.

Regards to all,

J
