Questions about Aero’s Battered Tan Horsehide

@technovox Aero has a new midweight HH in the kelpie (comes in dark green/seal brown/black), it is specifically tanned for Aero by a British Tannery. According to Holly at Aero "The seal and black will have teacore effect showing lighter brown undertones with wear (but it may be similar to your blackened brown Vic already). The green is very dark but with deeper green pull up effect, the green will be more noticeable under natural light."

I requested for samples to be sent to me so I can inspect it and play around with it.

Just got a sample of the Battered Tan and the Tumbled Cordovan this morning. They both seem just as thick as any other CXL. I'm starting to think that the Kelpie horsehide might be the answer to a brown midweight CXL HH. When you get your Kelpie samples, please post some pics and let me know what you think of it.

I agree, I was under the impression that the tumbled cxl would be a easier to break in but surprise surprise it's even harder to do so in my case.

I have high hopes for the Kelpie as Aero people seem to put it in high regards. I will sure to update you. I was planning to send them to @ton312 but I can mail it to you first since you are closer to me and maybe just forward it to Tony?

Sure. Or maybe Tony can forward it to me after he's done. Whatever is easiest. Many Thanks!

I picked up that loud green buffalo check and green kelpie listed on Aero's site. Their pictures are much better than what I could get even in natural light. It looks black even in natural light and that may be on account of so much green wool. I am really looking forward to the green patina. I think that this leather would look amazing on a more simple jacket pattern. The image is from Aero. I think it shows the most variation in the color.
