Question concerning mytailor.com

Can anyone provide me with some information regarding the quality and craftsmanship of the custom suits that Mr. Hamrajani makes?
I understand that he measures at various locations throughout the year and makes the clothes in China. Also, will a precise fit be ensured, or does one need to send the suit back to be altered? If this is the case, how is this arranged. I am considering getting fitted for three suits and would like some feeback from those who have had suits made from this source.

I had to talk to him for a while and draw out what I wanted though when it was finished I got exactly what I wanted.

every company has there different details they need to hammer out whether it be getting buckles on the sides right or stitching here and there... bottom line is that if you have a compitant person listening you will eventually get what you want.

Next question: If my new Indy suit has a few little details that need tweeking, do I send it back, or find somebody locally to make the alterations? I know I'll have to pay more if I do that, but would it be worth it in terms of time and result?

I met with Kenny Keswani today in St. Louis... He seems to cover alot of the midwestern stops for MyTailor.com

I have to say, he is not the kind of guy who should be in the business of talking to customers...

I ended up giving up on trying to get any work done by MyTailor through him... I was pretty sad about it too... had driven 2 hours to meet him, arrived early to take my time with the fabric samples, and had wanted to order quite a few shirts (of which I wanted to pre-order and have a single one sent first so that I could fix any problems with my pattern - before the others were produced)... He was quite a closed-minded chap, and seemed to just get annoyed at the simple utterance of the word "customizations."

A Rather distasteful guy to deal with...

I wanted to talk to someone who could help me to get what I wanted to do done. From the looks of it, the only benefit from him coming to town instead of ordering online is 1) close measurements (and) 2) getting to see the fabric samples before you see the shirt.

For heaven's sake, I thought I was going to get to meet someone to provide me with a personal service and a darn smile....

You guys have the benefit of meeting the owner, who, i hear, has a pretty open mind about the customer's ideas.

Well... I guess im up a creek unless I want to just try to get my customizations done through email, and going througha few shirts of errors in measurements....

Shrug... Ho Hum....

Cheers,
Rhabryn

Hemrajani is a good shirtmaker. For tailored clothing, take a look at W. W. Chan. They visit most of the same cities, the price is comparable and the workmanship is better IMO.

Can you show us a suit they've made for you? How flexible are they on style, and do they do measurements for arm scye? I've also considered this house for when I want to step up to true bespoke. (Granted they come anywhere IN Florida.)

Rhabryn, thanks for this post. I was thinking about a St. Louis trip myself, but given your experience with Mr. Keswani, I'll just pass. [huh]

I do want to ad that contrary to the first post, the suits are made in Hong Kong and not in China.

It's always better to meet the maker in person rather than deal with them over the phone.

I'm still very pleased with the black job Mytailor.com made.

I had attempted to contact Mr. Keswani before our meeting to give him a heads-up about what I was going to be requesting, but he didn't respond before our meeting. I had used his email address from his personal website. All and all leading me to think he didnt recieve the email beforehand.

He seemed to have alot of trouble with the idea that I wanted to buy beyond the minimum shirt order they required, but that I just wanted to have one delivered before the others were produced (but was willing to prepay). - I had wanted to do this because I had heard that they take a few attempts to get it right (which I'm ok with, and willing to pay for the attempts). But, when I had stated that I wanted to be able to make changes before the 2nd round of shirts, he told me "there would be no measurement problems." - I found this a somewhat unfounded statement, because I know pretty darn well I wanted a very fitted shirt, and it wouldnt happen on the first try.

There didn't seem to be any language barrier, but perhaps just trouble getting on the same wavelength. I'm under the impression that, if he knew what I was proposing (preorder w/ changes), he wouldn't have had as much trouble with the customizations.

If its not too much trouble to go there for you, I suggest doing it... and I would assume that he would be much more amicable to the idea of suit customizations.

I'm under the impression he just sized me up as "too much trouble for a small order" (having not understood me), and passed me off.

I don't think im going to give up on MyTailor.com, but perhaps just Mr. Keswani... from what ive read, the owner is an awesome guy to work with... Don't sell them short - especially given what great experiences other Loungers have had with them...
