Question about schott's cross chest vs chest

Im looking at Schott's sizing, can anyone tell me what is "cross chest" and "cross back" and how is it different from chest?

I would ignore those measurements; remember, this is a spec sheet for factory use. Those probably refer to something that comes up in leather cutting or stitching.

The relevant chest measurement as a customer is the first one.
