Matt, the Tablelands is tough as old boots and just the job as an outdoor fun hat. It will last you for years.

On mine I replaced the thin band with an Aussie style pug:

How stiff is that brim? The two Akubras I've owned had brims softer than what I like. They didn't hold shape very long. I like a stiff-as-a-board brim.

This would be a medium stiff brim as it does not rely upon shellac for its durability. The fur is of very good quality for a working hat. It is not intended as a traditional campaign hat which is cardboard stiff. It may even be considered floppy by your measure. You would likely need to shellac it or use a commercial hat stiffener to get it very stiff.
