This is my maternal grandfather, in either 1949 or 1950. What kind of jacket is this and where can I find one like it:

And also, same man (my grandpa) in 1972. What kind of jacket and shirt is this:

Also, my maternal step-grandfather in 1973: Where could I get a shirt like that?

A shirt like that (in the last pic)could be easily found on Ebay, look in the Post WWII-Early 60's section of men's vintage clothing.
That jacket (in the last pic) doesn't have name (I don't think), it's a waist length wool with elastic inserts on the sides and back waistband.
The middle pic could be anything...looks like a gab zipper jacket with the same type of shirt as the last pic.

Without seeing what kind of zipper (metal, plastic, etc), pocket style, length, etc., it could be any of dozens of types and styles. Offhand, it might be a poplin windbreaker type jacket. Frankly, the photo looks way older than 1972.

I second the Pendleton sentiment.

I'm also thinking that quite a bit of that type of gear can be found in the modern Woolrich catalogs or website:
www.woolrich.com

Possible jacket(similar style at least, and comes in colors): Men's Lined Stag Jacket

Flannel shirts til the cows come home: Flannel Buffalo Check Shirt

Hope that helps!
