Question about a Borsalino Milan.

I got this hat in today, when I took off the pug, I noticed this weave pattern that vents the sweatband area of the hat. Was this the way the hat came off the shelf, meaning w/o a pug?

What can anyone tell me about this? Thanks !

Does it have a sweatband with ventilation holes? I have a few Milans with the same open weave at the base of the crown accompanied by a Pug' and sweatband with holes. I believe it is functional rather than decorative.
I like that Pug'.

Yes the sweat is vented. So the pug belongs, very good, thank you. Yes neat Pug too....I need to clean it, 2 spots in it that will most likely come out. How do we clean a pug???

I also had a borso milan with the same thing going on. I think it's just there for ventilation.

I would treat it as if it were a tie and avoid wet wash. At minimum check the overlapping portion for colorfastness. I've had a pattern blur with a spot clean.
