Puerto Fino hats?

I have seen several Puerto Fino hats on ebay recently, made in Columbia (South America, not South Carolina, I assume). Some say "vintage" in descriptions, others are apparently new or newer. Is this an old hatmaker still making good hats, or are they substandard to vintage? I searched the forum for info, but didn't see anything.

re: Puerto Fino

Can't tell you how they rate vs vintage, as I am new to the vintage pursuit. The store is located in North Miami. The hats are made in Columbia. I have a bunch of Puerto Finos, both felt and straw. Nothing really top end but great hats for a good price.

Puerto Fino is a hat company from Bogata Columbia . The hats are pretty decent ,better than a Bailey or a royal Stetson . The store in Miami is the distributor . A nice guy by the name of Bruno runs the store . His family owns the factory .
The hat, when new sells for 100.00 to 150.00 .

More about Puerto Fino

The hat in the original post could well have ben vintage as the company has been in business for 50 years. The Columbian factory and brand was started by Bruno's father.

The store in Miami is also a retail outlet selling men's and women's hats. They clean, resize and block hats as well.

If you find a Worth & Worth or Barbisio made in Columbia, it probably came from Puerto Fino.

I love my Puerto Fino. Mine got a little beat-up so I had Delmonico's clean and block it. It is going to stay as my brim up Fedora. So here it is. Let see some more Puerto Fino's on here.

Looks like a pretty slick, hat!

For the previous posters: The south American country is Colombia. I live near the Columbia river. Spelling makes a world of difference. :)

OK..............here is my wife and I AND the Puerto Fino......well............it is a GREAT HAT!!! WONDERFUL feel to the felt, soft and luxurious.....thought it would be more like my Selentio's......not at all, open crown, great feel to the felt....molds just like clay.....all I can say is WOW!!!!! It has a 3" brim and about a 5 1/2" open crown. PERFECT hat for a sunny day......VERY PLEASED!!!

I've been looking for a Puerto Fino but all I can find are stingy brims and straw hats. Did you buy yours new? Do you know where they can be purchased? I'm thinking of calling the Florida store to see if they will sell directly to the public.

Got mine used---(though it was not worn much if at all) and I THINK off the Bay....it was just long enough ago i cannot remember where I got it. Just wore it a couple of weeks ago for an outdoor event. I really like this hat. Great sort of a moss green color....If I found another like it I would buy again....but not sure where they are available.....
