Puerto Fino Hats

Hi guys, What do you all know about this particular hat brand? I purchased a fedora by this company, but i was only able to find scarce information on it. Bencraft Hats and Levine hats are the only places i could find that carry it and i could find nothing else on the company. Do any of you guys own this brand hat and what do you think? I have the "Roll up 214". Thanks.

I own two Borsas (light gray, navy blue) and one roll up 214 (brown). The roll up is softer felt, the other two are stiffer, but I like them for new hats. They are definitely better than the Stetsons I own. I don't wear them that often, so I cannot comment on their durability.

I, too, know nothing of the company except that it's in Colombia. I purchased mine at a local hat shop (Puerto Fino Hats) in North Miami Beach (305) 944-8202. They don't make them, just stock them.

I like the hats, but my next hat will be custom made. So, someday I'll be in touch with Art.

Puerto Fino's are made in Columbia SA . THe quality is good as we have been carrying them for about twenty years . The major problem is the consistency from the factory . One delivery will be fantasic and the next looks as if the workers were driking too much coffe . The quality of the fur is much better than Stetson . They have little in the way of shapes so most of the hats will be open crown . And they make up to a size 8!!

Yeah... i am happy with the hat. I just had it shaped recently at my local hat shop and it has worked for me very nicely. I do have two little stains on it... and i have no idea where they came from. The hat looks good on you . As new hat wearer start out with something classic like the hat that you are wearing . You can gradually go into a teardrop hat that is a little more sporty looking. You might even want to try a porkpie one day .

Was down at the local hat store today and tried on a Puerto Fino borso 300B Also know as a Capri I believe, as Benchcraft has what appears to be the exact hat for 110 US. Have heard a lot about sizing for new hats from Stetsons to Baily and Biltmore. Seems the size is one down. I have some vintage hats and Stetson for me is always exactly the right size. The Puerto Fino I tried on was and seemed like a pretty well made hat and was styled for what I was looking for. Brim 3 inches with an even flange and brim, see my Stet 100. It was flanged just like my 100 which is not easy to get that even. The crown was stiff and it had a nice 2inch ribbon with a wind button! My reg size was definately too small and of the 3 new hats I have purchased they were all one size too small. One size up was perfect. Looks like a good hat but at 195 I think it might be a bit pricey. Any one familiar with this model? It is on the Benchcraft site for 110 and I am sure it is the same hat. Capri not Borso 300 B.
